Be a part of Stawell’s own Amazing Race!

The Stawell CBD will be the place to be on Sunday 14 April, with Wimmera Regional Library Corporation - Stawell Library taking the lead on Stawell’s Amazing Race event, which is set to thrill the young and young at heart with a series of challenges and activities for all to enjoy.

Families, sporting clubs, local businesses and community groups are all encouraged to get together their team of four to compete in both physical and mental challenges that will take them to various locations around the Stawell CBD.

The event is linked closely with Premier’s Active April, which encourages people to be active and join in on the fun of physical activity throughout the month of April, which will hopefully lead to longer term physical activity habits being developed in the future.

Funding for the event was gained by Central Grampians LLEN through the Engage! funding stream.

Along with council, other local organisations involved in the event include Arcadeon, Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly, Stawell Neighbourhood House, Aussie Kindies and Budja Budja Neighbourhood House.

The event will run from 10am-1pm, with a free barbecue and prizes awarded post-event.

With registrations closing on 12 April, interested parties are encouraged to lock in their place now by registering on the Northern Grampians Shire Council website, as places are limited.

Stawell Ward Councillor, Karen Hyslop said, “Given the Stawell Amazing Race will be taking place over the school holidays, it’s a perfect opportunity for families to band together, dress up and have fun while being active and enjoying the challenges on offer.”

“It’s also a great chance for clubs and community groups to team up, be active and social and take it as seriously, or as easy as they’d like.”
