The former bowling green site on the corner of the Queen Mary Gardens is the first sight to incoming visitors from the east and south.
The former bowling green is currently an empty field of grass with a gravel footpath to be developed to enhance the historical characteristics of St Arnaud to potential visitors who pass through the town along this road.
The St Arnaud Civic Precinct Plan 2014 includes the initial design of this area. Council has worked with the Queens Mary Gardens Committee to refine the designs, to ensure this development is attractive, welcoming and enhances the beauty of the gardens.
This first stage of the expansion of the Queen Mary Gardens onto this site will include new:
- picnic seating
- an entry arbour
- stone wall/seat
- stone wall with signage
- Feature pavement with a stone paving pattern
- garden irrigation system
- concrete edging for the gravel footpaths
