Family and children services

Maternal and Child Health and Immunisation services are continuing during the current COVID-19 response period.

As a protective measure, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Immunisation programs will be modified to ensure the ongoing good health of community and our staff.

Both programs will implement health screening questions prior to you attending.

Please do not attend your appointment if either yourself or someone in your household is unwell.

Phone 03 5358 9060 if you need to discuss this further or reschedule an appointment.

COVID-19 Maternal and Child Health Services

The MCH program will provide consultations predominantly by telephone, or other electronic means.

A MCH Nurse will contact you by telephone at your scheduled appointment time.

Please do not attend MCH sites until you have spoken with the nurse.

With respect to newborn home visiting services, the MCH program requests families provide a suitable space for the nurse to conduct the brief consultation with one carer and child.  This requirement will allow a service to continue to be offered to families in the current climate.  For any consultation that occurs at the MCH consulting rooms, only one primary carer can be present with one child.  Extended family, siblings and partners are requested not to attend our facilities at this time.

The MCH Line is also open 24 hours 7 days per week and can be contacted on 13 22 29.

COVID-19 Immunisation Services

Immunisation teams are implementing health screening measures prior to you attending your scheduled appointment.

Only one primary caregiver and a child can be present during immunisation. Extended family, siblings and partners are requested not to attend our facilities at present.  These measures enable essential service delivery to continue, and protects families and the health care workforce.
