Northern Grampians Shire Council has introduced changes to the dates and location of its free immunisation program in St Arnaud.

As of February, immunisation sessions will be held from 9.30am until 10.30am on the first Wednesday of every month. The sessions will take place in the multipurpose room at the St Arnaud Children’s Precinct, with the first date set for 1 February.

Cr Merrilee Reid said Council was encouraging parents to check the full list of immunisation dates for 2017.

“We are looking forward to providing our immunisation services from the St Arnaud Children’s Precinct which is a more comfortable and convenient place for families to visit when it comes time to receive their vaccinations,” she said.

“As the days of the sessions have also changed, we are urging families to check the details on our website and ensure they keep up to date with the National Immunisation Program Schedule.”

Cr Reid said local government played an important role in delivering immunisation services to the public.

“We currently provide approximately half of all immunisation encounters for children aged zero to six and are helping contribute to raising the importance of immunisation in our local communities,” she said.
