$5.8 million-worth of approvals in eight weeks – Northern Grampians Shire Council welcomes growth and investment.
Council approved 16 planning permits valued at a total of $4.6 million in June and July 2015 alone.
This includes the $2.6 million development at the current Winston Lodge site approved by Council on 26 June 2015.
“It’s fantastic to see investments of this scale happening in the Northern Grampians, particularly on the Western Highway,” Mayor Cr Emerson said.
“We’re very pleased to be able to give this one the go ahead and are excited to see the project come to life.”
Council also approved 23 building permits in June and July with a total value of $1.2 million.
Cr Emerson said seeing projects unfold at this magnitude showed a clear confidence in the benefits of investing in the Northern Grampians.
“Council places high priority on economic growth. It is clear to us as a Council that the planning and building teams are working tirelessly to both meet and exceed the expectations of our community” Cr Emerson said.
“Council receives reports on both building and planning permit applications at its meetings each month which gives us an indication as to the economic activity occurring throughout the municipality.
“It also reflects the power of work being done by these departments to ensure we make the most of the strengths and comparative advantages of our municipality,” he said.
