The revitalised Stawell Leisure Complex health and fitness centre will go on show to the public this weekend, with the new-look facility hosting a grand opening on Sunday.

The centre’s new fitness team will be on hand to guide community members through the new gym and group fitness areas, as well as showcasing the world-class new equipment and class timetable.

Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Cr Tony Driscoll said community members would notice some major changes to the facility since Council took over its operations late last year.

“What we’ve been working to develop is truly a fitness offering that has not been seen in  Stawell before,” Cr Driscoll said.

“This new approach to health and fitness will reap benefits for the wider community, both in terms of overall health and wellbeing and the savings be delivered to the community.

Sunday’s open day will begin at 9am, with an official opening by Cr Driscoll at 9.30 am, while the facility will remain open to the public until 12 noon.
