Community, business, contractors invited to Halls Gap Mini Info Expo
Published on 18 November 2015
Halls Gap residents, businesses, real estate agents and local contractors are being encouraged to attend an information session on Thursday 26 November to update them on a range of projects happening in and around the town.
Mayor Cr Murray Emerson said representatives from Grampians Tourism, Parks Victoria and Northern Grampians Shire Council will update the community on planning scheme amendments, the Halls Gap Hub, and the next construction stage of the Grampians Peaks Trail.
Cr Emerson said the expo will also cover the Halls Gap Master Plan and Essential Safety Measures (ESM) - such as emergency exits and fire extinguishers - for motels and other businesses. The Council will soon begin working with Halls Gap businesses on ESM compliance.
“There have been a number of key projects happening in and around Halls Gap that will affect the town’s residents and businesses, so we encourage everyone to come along and find out how these projects might impact them,” he said.
“The expo will provide a good overview of these five projects and there will be a question and answer session at the conclusion to allow people to chat to the relevant person.”
Cr Emerson said the Expo will also be a great opportunity for local contractors such as builders, plumbers, metal workers, stonemasons and pilots to find out more about the Grampians Peaks Trail and the kinds of work that will be up for tender before a more in-depth industry session on the process is held.
The Mini Info Expo will be held at the Halls Gap Hub from 5.30pm and will take the form of five sessions held concurrently on each topic, with people able to pick and choose which session they attend. Sessions will last for 15 minutes and will be held at 6pm, 6.20pm, 6.40pm, 7pm and 7.20pm, with attendees able to attend any or all of the sessions.
The question and answer session will be held at the end of the expo, from around 7.30pm to 8pm, and light refreshments, tea and coffee will be provided.
