Stawell Primary School has teamed up with the Stawell Agricultural Society to hold a garage sale at this year’s Stawell Show as part of the Garage Sale Trail.

Northern Grampians Shire Council is promoting the nationwide event which will see over 10,000 garage sales held across the country on Saturday October 24.

President of the show committee, Geoff Erwin, said both events falling on the same day presented a great opportunity for the school and the show to partner up.

“We’re really looking forward to it. We think it will provide something new and exciting for show patrons this year,” Mr Erwin said.

Principal of Stawell Primary School, Robyn Jones, said the sale provided a great opportunity for the school to sell some of its equipment and to teach the students about fundraising.

“The children are donating an item each to the school to sell on the day and the money raised will be used to buy new furniture for our classrooms,” Mrs Jones said.

The school will also use the sale as an opportunity to sell furniture no longer needed at the school. It can be ordered on the day and collected by appointment.

The stall will include books, toys, furniture and bric-a-brac.
