Community Expo (St. Arnaud) (08-Oct-2009)

The St. Arnaud Community Expo for seniors, carers and their families is on again on October 21st.

The Expo aims to provide seniors, their families and carers an opportunity to learn about the wonderful support services, community groups and clubs which operate within their community.

A variety of stalls will be set up on the day with representation from local groups including East Wimmera Health Services, a massage therapist, Kara CWA, University of the Third Age and Petal Black Clothing. Representatives from organisations including Carers Victoria, Department of Veterans Affairs, Action Aids Australia, Victoria Police and Wimmera Hearing Society will also be in attendance.

Guests will be delighted by the antics of a roving clown and other local entertainment. They will also have the opportunity to view the 24 finalists of the Evergreen Photographic Competition and can bring along their mobile phone for a free lesson on how to use it most effectively.

Cr. Ross Clementson said the Expo promised to be a great day out, following on from a hugely successful expo last year.

“We had great feedback on the event last year and we’re confident that this year’s expo will be just as successful. It will be a really enjoyable day for anyone who comes along. There will be plenty going on and something for everyone”, he added.

“We really want to encourage seniors and in particular, their families, to come along. There’s a wealth of information out there for seniors and the Expo will bring it all together in one place”, Cr. Clementson said.

The Expo will be held at the St. Arnaud Town Hall on October 21st from 10.30 am til 2.30pm. Admission is free and light lunch is provided.
