The Stawell Community Expo for seniors, carers and their families is on again on October 14th.
The Expo aims to provide seniors, their families and carers an opportunity to learn about the wonderful support services, community groups and clubs which operate within their community.
A variety of stalls will be set up on the day with representation from local groups including Stawell Intertwine who will do a demonstration of the Nintendo Wii Kinteractive games and the Wimmera Hearing Society who will conduct hearing tests.
Entertainment will be provided by a number of local groups including the Stawell Senior Citizen line dancers and choir, a piano accordionist and roving clown.
Guests will also have the opportunity to view the 24 finalists of the Evergreen Photographic Competition and can bring along their mobile phone for a free lesson on how to use it most effectively.
Cr. Ross Clementson said the Expo promised to be a great day out, following on from a hugely successful expo last year.
“We had great feedback on the event last year and we’re confident that this year’s expo will be just as successful. It will be a really enjoyable day for anyone who comes along. There will be plenty going on and something for everyone”, he added.
“We really want to encourage seniors and in particular, their families, to come along. There’s a wealth of information out there for seniors and the Expo will bring it all together in one place. It’s also a great opportunity to celebrate the active seniors’ community we have here in Stawell”, Cr. Clementson said.
The Expo will be held at the Stawell Entertainment Centre on October 14th from 10.30 am til 3pm. Admission is free and light lunch is provided.
