Northern Grampians Shire Council, Stawell Regional Health and Grampians Community Health Centre will run a free Walktober event on October 15th.
The event will kick off at 9.30am at Cato Park and will include warm-up, a walk around the lake and Tai Chi cool down, all with the assistance of professional instructors. Participants will enjoy a free healthy morning tea after their walk.
Councillor Barry Marrow said Walktober was established to support people and the community in safely walking for fun, health, transport and the environment to build sustainable and connected communities.
“Walktober celebrates all the benefits of walking for fun, fitness, transportation and socialisation. We really hope that the community will get behind the event and come and enjoy a nice walk around our beautiful lake”, Cr. Marrow said.
Everyone is welcome. If you want to get involved please contact Chelsea O’Callaghan on 5358 8700.
