Northern Grampians Shire Council is encouraging residents of Great Western to have their say on the future of their town.
The session follows highly successful “Your Town, Your Future” summits in Stawell, St. Arnaud and Halls Gap earlier this year.
It will provide the community an extra opportunity to plan on what they would like to see happen in their town, what they identify as the town’s strengths and weaknesses and where they think future opportunities may exist.
Councillor Ross Clementson says the session will be the perfect way for Great Western residents to speak with Councillors and Council staff about the town’s wants and needs.
“There are always a heap of great ideas floating around out there and we need to find ways of capturing them so we can put them into action. I think this is one very successful way of doing just that”, Cr. Clementson said.
Council staff will be manning the street of Great Western during the day of the session to gather ideas and comments before the meeting commences.
The session will be headed up by an external facilitator and will take place at the Great Western hall on Wednesday August 26th from 7pm. All residents are welcome.
Future summits are being planned for Marnoo, Navarre and Stuart Mill.
