The Northern Grampians Shire in Central Western Victoria consists of the major towns of St Arnaud, Stawell and Halls Gap, and the main townships of Great Western, Marnoo, Glenorchy, Stuart Mill and Navarre. St Arnaud is 2 hours and 50 minutes from Melbourne while Stawell is 2 hours and 45 minutes from Melbourne.

The Shire has an area of 5,727 square kilometres and a population of over 13,155.
