Fire Prevention
The Northern Grampians Shire Council has prepared a Municipal Fire Management Plan (MFMP) in conjunction with the Country Fire Authority (CFA) and pursuant to section 55A of the Country Fire Authority Act 1958. The Northern Grampians Shire MFMP is an integrated document, combining plans from the Municipality, the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE), Country Fire Authority (CFA), Vic Roads and other key stakeholders. It is consistent with the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP) to ensure that all agencies have a uniform approach to fire Preparedness, Prevention, Response and Recovery. The plan also contains appropriate reference to other uses of fire, including agriculture, ecological and cultural application's, and replaces the existing Municipal Fire Prevention Plan (MFPP).
