Native Vegetation Removal

Native Vegetation Removal Community Sessions July 2016

In July 2016 four Community information sessions were conducted by Northern Grampians Shire Council and the State Government Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP). These sessions were designed to highlight the requirements that landholders needed to undertake prior to clearing native vegetation as well as to discuss the requirements for, and methods of, offsetting cleared vegetation, as well as the many exemptions that exist.

The presentations from DELWP and Council are shown below as well as links to the documents and assessment tools discussed on the night.

We are aware that native vegetation removal legislation can be complicated and therefore we encourage anyone who is thinking about removing vegetation to contact Council or DELWP prior to doing so.

If people would like more general information please do not hesitate to call Council.
