Northern Grampians Shire offer highly accredited Children's Services that are flexible to meet the diverse needs of your family.

All of our centres provide a happy and secure environment filled with many learning opportunities for every child in our care.

Our main centres, St Arnaud Children's Precinct and Taylors Gully Children's Centre often host visiting health practitioners and conduct information sessions for families.

St Arnaud

St Arnaud Children's Precinct

An award-winning, state-of-the-art childcare facility, the St Arnaud Children's Precinct was Victoria's first 'children's hub' to house several children's services under one roof.

As part of its long day care service, Council's qualified and dedicated early childhood educators care for children from birth to five years. The centre also offers Preschool for three and four year olds.

St Arnaud Children's Precinct also administers a Vacation Care program. This service runs from St Arnaud Children's Precinct from 8am to 6pm during school holidays.

Taylors Gully Children's Centre

Continually rated as high quality by the National Childcare Accreditation Council, Taylors Gully Children's Centre (TGCC) is a central site for all Council's Family and Children Services in Stawell.

Taylors Gully Children's Services provide Council's Long Day Care Service and Maternal & Child Health. Taylors Gully also makes available a Preschool room (Marrang) for the Stawell & District Preschool Association. The Echidna Room is utilised by a number of groups other than our Echidna educators, including the Stawell Playgroup and for our Immunisation Program every third Wednesday of the month. Visiting Specialists are catered for with a purpose built office. On site at TGCC are the Council's Baby Capsule, Car Seat and Booster Seat Hire Program.

Currently, long day care, part-time or casual care is available for children 0-12 years. Meals and nappies are provided.

Echidna Room

This childcare service operates from 9am - 5pm, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, except public holidays.  This service allows for families to have their children cared for and educated in the same room.  Fees will depend on your Chid Care Benefit percentage.  For an estimate, please contact our office on the number below.

Vacation Care - St Arnaud

St Arnaud Children's Precinct also administers a Vacation Care program. This service runs from St Arnaud Children's Precinct from 8am to 6pm during school holidays.

Outside School Hours Care - Stawell

After School Care: The Ararat YMCA provides After School Care at Stawell West Primary School and Stawell 502 Primary School. The program commences at the end of school through until 6pm Monday - Friday. The children are cared for in a safe and caring environment run by qualified local staff and both sites are accredited through National Childcare Accreditation Council.

Vacation Care runs every school holiday period at Stawell West Primary School and Stawell 502 Primary School from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday (except over Christmas/New Years). The programs are for school aged children and children are able to participate in various activities such as arts and craft, games, cooking, excursions and much more.
